Power-generating exercise equipment?

Anyone had experience converting a piece of exercise equipment to also generate power?
I'm following a train of thought of:
Working all day sitting on my @ss is showing up, despite CFing and eating a lot better than I used to>
Getting up periodically and moving around (say, jumping rope every half-hour) would be better>
If I could keep moving ALL DAY, that would be even better>
Can I make a laptop stand for, say, an exercise bike?>
Hey, can I power my laptop from an exercise bike?>
Is there something else I can use to work AND move at the same time?

Great idea! Here's a couple good links for starting that process:
...a sort of cross-fit for your brain.
