Re: Aldo or Faber?

Brown vs Gamburyan. Not sure how brown wins, but it's going to be lopsided.

Henderson vs Cerrone. I gave the first fight to Cerrone, but considering how judges score fights I'll call Henderson by UD.

Faber vs Aldo. Very hard fight to call. Aldo is on a tear and is extremelly efficient & effective. Faber is a beast and is fighting at his hometown for the belt he held for a long time against a top P4P who blasted through the man who beat him twice (Brown). Faber will be the most motivated and better trained we have ever seen, which is crazy! I hate to go against my countryman, but I can't go against Faber on this one.

Re: Aldo or Faber?

Very tough call. I'm pulling for Faber but I think Aldo will probably take it.

I definitely agree with this. Gamburyan has t-rex arms that don't work for striking at all (he also has a total lack of striking skills), if he can't take you down and land in top position, he is not very good at all. Non-existent bottom game and striking against a guy like Brown...2nd round TKO victory for Brown.

Re: Aldo or Faber?

Those were some great fights. Sad to see Faber get dominated. I was pulling for Garcia but I am one who believes the Zombie got ripped by the decision. Garcia's punches were sloppy. He must have missed or grazed 90%. I don't know what the judges are looking at sometimes.

Re: Aldo or Faber?

Agree Ned, I gave the Zombie the nod as well, but it was close.

Overall great night of fights as always with the WEC.

Brown looked horrible from the very beginning. The guy was one victory away from a rematch for the title and he looked like $#!! from the get-go of the fight

Faber surprised me by choosing to stand with Aldo He never tried a single takedown it took all but 2 rounds for Aldo to pick him apart. It was obvious coming into this fight that Aldo was the better fighter, but I still thought that Faber would be able to out-compete him and wrestle the belt away from him. Instead Faber never closed the distance and paid dearly for it by taking a serious beating.

Re: Aldo or Faber?

The judges should've been escorted out of the arco arena immediately after the decision was announced in favour of Garcia...robbery charges should've been laid immediately!

For the brawl that it was, Jung was surprisingly accurate with his wide punches. Garcia threw some weird jumping punches that looked like they were out of the street fighter video game.

Faber got outclassed so badly, it wasn't competitive. The few times he tried to take it down, Aldo was up in a second and punishing him with a leg kick for his troubles. That leg kick workshop was just as bad what Rafael dos Anjos did to Robert Emerson, but with 2 extra rounds. Here's a link to the day after photo of Faber's leg (I think the link is safe for work and family, but anything MMA related is always subject to YOUR discretion...it's just a photo of a leg):
