Eugene, before I read your last couple sentences, I was thinking, "Heck, I look and sound like that during a WOD". I do like to think the end result is better though.
Supposedly, the area I live in is close to the top as far as manufacturing the stuff. Lots of farmers around here that use anhydrous ammonia for fertilizer. They are trying to restrict sales of Pseudoephidrine, and of course the naysayers say it won't make a dif, ("They'll just make it in Mexico and import it").
If I ever find (or smell) a lab out in the woods, I'll certainly report it. Bad stuff. Saw a show on TV showing a catscanned brain of a meth addict. Looked like swiss cheese. Crack, heroin, acid etc is bad enough, but this stuff... I just don't get it. WHY?????

Down here we have Riverside County; more precisely, Lake Elsinore and the outlying desert areas.
A girl from our Bobby Sox league (daughter of the president of the board) went to her prom, decided it was boring, left with some knuckleheads who wanted to go to an Indian casino, got stranded in Elsinore when the knuckleheads couldn't find the casino and ran out of gas, decided to try and walk to get help (at around 3 a.m.). They finally call her mom who promptly calls Riverside Sheriffs. Sherrif tells mom not to get her hopes up as her daughter has landed in meth central and few come out alive.
Somehow the kid and her friend get found by a sheriff before the enevitable bad ending. He tells them they were only picked up because he was on the way to a call about suspicious activity around a suspected meth lab. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than stupid.
They sell houses in that area with 3 and 4 car garages. As I told a friend who bought one; "2 for the car, 2 for the lab."
He didn't get it at first; then he moved into the neighborhood.

OKay. I wasn't keeping up with this thread lately and I get on and the top one says Ron and his wife had some kind of harrowing experience but now she wears a leash.

I am not sure about you guys! Guess I better go back two or three pages and catch up from last week.

Beth,
You'll find harrowing experience (lost kid at beach) real. Leash comments; not so real.
Gallows humor: legit.

The driver of a car that police pulled over in a routine traffic stop Monday fled and was found drowned in the Marina Lagoon about five hours later, authorities said Tuesday.

The incident began at 5:22 p.m. when a police officer pulled over 33-year- old Troy Guido of Redwood City for a possible registration violation regarding his Buick Century, Capt. Jon Froomin said.

Guido stopped in the parking lot of a Residence Inn, jumped out of his car and scaled a fence onto Mariners Island Boulevard, Froomin said.

Witnesses told police that Guido jumped into the water near the Edgewater Isle complex, started swimming and then yelled for help. A passer-by jumped into the lagoon but was unable to save him.

Police arrested a passenger in Guido's car, 19-year-old Monique Weaver of Sunnyvale, on an outstanding warrant. Authorities who searched her at the jail found what they believed was methamphetamine, Froomin said.

There were no outstanding warrants against Guido, police said. An autopsy is expected to show whether he had any drugs in his system.

DOH!

There's a website here in Kentucky devoted to a dude with 805 drunk in public arrests. I won't link it due to some profanity on the site, but his name is Henry Earl.

Ron - lost kids are harrowing. I felt blessed after my son was born and he was one of those shy one's who wouldn't leave my legs. My daughter had been a wanderer. I still can call up heart attack symptoms from when she was two and disappeared on a camping trip. She is 20 now and I feel much safer with her on her own! We used to talk about moving to an island much like the one in the story The Tempest during her teen years. Didn't do it. Might have been smart in retrospect.

I hear you! But seriously, you have a 20 y-o? Get out!

Then again, my oldest is 18 and I look like a young pup. (I keed, I'm a keeder)

Barry,
Isn't that the guy from The Andy Griffith show who always slept off his benders in the jail?
