Yeah- for an Olympic medalist to engage in that kind of petty BS before a fight is pretty lame in my opinion.

Yup. Super wicked stuff.

Real question I have though, is whether anyone thought the ref should have stopped it earlier?

I support the ref in not stopping it before it broke- it's easy to claim afterwards that you were fine, that you wouldn't have tapped, etc. It's also on the fighter to defend themselves intelligently at all times- and knowing your limits is surely part of that.

Re: Tate vs Rousey weigh-ins video Butting Heads

I wouldn't have faulted the ref for stopping it b/c the arm was clearly in danger, but unfortunately I think it's better that he didn't. Tate would have made a huge fuss that she didn't tap, deserved a rematch, etc.

I had a hard time watching that fight, especially since I didn't see it live and heard that it was a nasty arm-bar.

The fact that she didn't tap and the fact that she didn't give up on her last fight make me really respect Tate. No one can beat Rousey right now, but no one is as tough as Tate.
