Machida and BJ

Anyone else excited for Machida finally dropping down to 185 AND getting a title shot with Weidman? I think the unfortunate incident with Anderson Silva really was the catalyst to let Machida drop down, since there was always talk that they would never fight each other.

And while I've never been a fan of BJ Penn, I'm extremely excited to see if he is truly motivated to fight again, especially at 145. I have always thought he needed to leave Hawai'i to train since it seemed to be an issue with his conditioning in terms of intensity and nutrition. Now that he's at a real camp, and a world-class one at that, I don't see conditioning an issue anymore as long as the weight cut wasn't too harsh. Just depends if he's motivated to fight...

It's an old post, I thought we were going to talk about old fights. Machida weighed 225 when he fought BJ, I don't know what BJ weighed-but it looks like alot. Great old fight, I kind of thought BJ should have won.
