Thank you to everyone who said they were interested in competing or coming to cheer on the athletes in the Chicago Tactical Strength Challenge August 21. Unfortunately, I discovered today that the meet was cancelled due to a lack of competitors. The lack of a meet is a big disappointment, but the support and interest from fellow Crossfitters was fantastic! Thank you again!

Now back to training for the 40 pullups....

I'm sorry to hear that Kelly, I know from your posts that you put a lot of effort into preparing for that event. Maybe next year!

Kelly,
Pretty shabby of them to wait so long to notify folks. Have you considered just testing yourself, to see how all of your training paid off? I'm curious to see how you'd max out.

Yup, it would have been nice to have been informed a little earlier.

You are right - testing the events would be a good idea. I did put considerable time, energy and pain into the training. Then it's on to racing you to the infamous 40 pullup deadline! I believe you are leading 35-33.

How about delaying the 40 pullup contest by a day or two and we'll both have the chance to cheer each other on (or you can laugh at my fading grip strength) during the second Pitts/Moore summit in New Hampshire?

Kelly,

I am sorry.

Keep training for Colorado. You are headlining the "Woodstock" of modern LEO/Mil PT. We need you.

I'm also sorry to hear the event was canceled. I really wanted to be there. Question is, how do they know in advance how many competitors will participate? Are you supposed to register? Had I known that's the case I would have registered even though I hadn't trained for it. May be next year.

George,

It seems the process was informal - the request for TSC athletes was posted on the DD forum and interested parties were to email the event coordinator. I did request more information (registration fee, location, time, etc...) several times but I didn't have any luck getting an answer.

I'm hoping to meet you at the next Chicago TSC. It would be great to have several Crossfitters at the meet.

Kelly,

Could I send you a Russian Kettlebell Challenge t-shirt as a consolation? It would be too big for training use, but you could always use it as a nightie!

Brian
