This is not the most important benefit to working out, so please do not misunderstand my following question.
What kind of aesthetic results are anyone seeing as compared to traditional training methods? In his name! |

Not trying to be a prick but....
Traditional training for what? Bodybuilding, powerlifting, edurance running, gymnastics, olimpic lifting, track and field, military/police training (since whe have a bunch of those here), martial arts?????? In my personal case I think I have benefited positively for crossfit in terms of estetics. But it's really a largely subjective idea, just like all judgements on estetics are. I have not lost a great amount of fat or gained a great amount of muscle. Daniel |

Jeff-
check out Art devany's page: http://aris.ss.uci.edu/mbs/personnel...ryfitness.html Scroll down and see what he has to say on the "X-look". Devany's training is very similar to Crossfit and all good athletic training in that it emphasizes function (performance) over form (appearance). An interesting result of persuing performance is that the resulting appearance alterations are far superior to those gained from a standard bodybuilding protocol...which theoreticly is emphasizing aesthetics! It is a bit of a Zen like twist... I hope this helps! Robb |

Thanks Robert.
Daniel, I simply meant, you know, the typical bodybuilding routine that alot of men do for looks. In his name! |

Jeff,
In the macro sense when one speaks of "aesthetics" what is typically being refered to is leanness and muscle mass. Leanness is nearly entirely determined by diet whereas muscle mass is largely determined by diet and exercise regimen. Here is a hierarchy of muscle mass by regimen - more to less musculature. 1. Bodybuilding on steroids 2. CrossFitting on streoids 3. CrossFitting without steroids 4. Bodybuilding without steroids |

Thanks for the reply coach. I have worked out now for several years. I am one of those people that alot of people ask questions from because of my experience and I suppose looks from working out.
As stated above, I know that it is not the most important thing, but I wanted to know what kind of muscle mass gains, muscle loss, fat loss, etc., that everyone has experienced compared to "Traditional" weightlifting programs. In his name! |
