Plastic coating for Jcups

Hey guys just wondering if anyone knows of a spray or paint on coating that I could use for my Jcups so as to save my bar from getting dinged.

I googled some but I don't know what kind of plastic spray would be good for this application.

Re: Plastic coating for Jcups

Maybe a Rust-oleum or some such rust proofer? I know used that for a coating for a gas tank when I was reworking my first car. kinda creates a halfway rubbery finish.
Or a plastic condensate drain repair aerosol such as nu-calgon's Pan Spray
http://www.nucalgon.com/products/aer...ucts/pan-spray (WFS)

I can't speak for the durability that it would have but I'd think it would
protect the knurling

Are you willing to try UHMW (what Rogue and others use for j-cups)? You can get small pieces of mcmaster-carr...not sure if they ship to Canada or not.

Can you spray or paint it on? There's no proper area to bolt it to in case that's what you were suggesting

I would say Bedliner spray from Advance auto. Extremely durable and cheap to use.

You can get UHMW with tape backing. It may come loose sometimes, but it's probably more durable than any spray you might use.

I cut up a mouse pad, put in in the cup of my squat rack, and then taped it over with duct tape. It works ok for me.

Re: Plastic coating for Jcups

Have any used tires laying around? I cut chunks of the sidewall out of an old tire and zip-tied them to my jack stands so the jack stands wouldn't gouge the paint. That's probably the most durable thing you could do.

Plastidip might work for a while.

If you're set on something spray-on, bedliner would probably be your best bet.
