Programing for Goals

So... I have finally figured out what my fitness goals are but I am having a hard time figuring out the best way to get there.

I would like to obtain the following goals within the next year.

1. Sub 24min 5k (currently at 29 minutes. Used to run this around 21minutes when I was in shape)

2. 1000# CFT (currently at 790 range)

I am 6'6 and currently at about 245.

Because of my work schedule I have to follow a 3-1-2-1 format. I find myself stuck between simply following the main site or following CFFB for my main programming and adding CFE workouts a few times a week.

Re: Programing for Goals

That sounds like a decent plan. I think instead of adding CFE though, I would sub it in. Instead of CFFB on Saturday, do a 5k, and maybe one day during the week instead of the DWOD, do CFE. IMO

Re: Programing for Goals

Lots of pure strength days, a good amount of long runs (1 every week or two), some CFE thrown in, and do running metcons as well.

Re: Programing for Goals

Mile repeats or 800m repeats would be helpful mixed in as well IMO.
