All the bread, pasta and rice you want!!

Check out this article.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,509910,00.html (W/F/S)

So... instead of having people eat healthy and avoiding those high-carb foods, lets change our genes so that they don't affect us.

Well that just may be in the works.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25949447/ (WFS)

I cant believe people actually want this stuff....

(Yes I can see that this would help the sick and the bed ridden....but it will most likley have its medical name changed and marketed to the fitness gadget crowd)

fox news pretty much = the onion.

With a story like that, we should revise the definition of "WFS".

Wow, that is ridiculous. So arenít they admitting what we already know, that grains are pretty much evil, but letís not recommend avoiding them, letís make another pill for people to take so they can eat pasta and rice all day and not become a tub of lard.

Doesnít a thermogenic pretty much do the same thing that the ďexercise pillĒ claims to do?

So we can have a whole society of folks, sitting on the couch, eating potato chips, popping these two pills and not getting fat. Sounds veeeeery safe, Iím sure there wonít be any harmful side effects here!

So I'm curious about what happens to the energy/sugar from those carbs in the gene disabled mice.

No mention of increased lean body mass, no mention of any side effects.

Hmmm, they probably do tell you that one of the side effects is leakage. Kinda like that new cooking oil a while back (Olestra). Oh this stuff is sooo much healthier...oh by they way, you might need to wear a diaper. Ugh.

no, not admitting that at all. they are just stating that having an all you can eat buffet of pasta may not be the greatest thing. you could also go as far as saying everything in excess may not be great. an all you can eat fat buffet wouldn't be good either!

Re: All the bread, pasta and rice you want!!

aren't most americans consuming an "all you can eat buffet of pasta" worth of carbs everyday though?

"We hope that this research will one day help people eat bread, pasta and rice and not worry about getting fat," Roger Wong, a graduate student who worked on the study, said in a statement.

I might be missing something but I donít see anywhere in the article where it says anything about an all-you-can-eat pasta buffet. That above quote just says it may let people eat this stuff without getting fat. Not that they could nothing but carbs and not get fat, just eat it and not get fat.
