Want to buy a bumper plate set, should I check any place other than Craigslist?

Trying not to spend too much money, so figure a used set from CL would do the trick- any other advice for finding a cheap set?

Thanks.

if you want a cheap set, Wright bumpers really are hard to beat. If you call Jason directly, you'll find they're the cheapest.

As far as Craigslist is concerned... you'll find some bumpers every once in a while, but they're fairly rare. But that's advice coming from AZ. I've prob seen 4 ads for bumper plates in the past 8 months total. CA may be different.

And when you do find them on cragislist once in a blue moon, the owner knows what he or she has, and wants nearly full retail on them anyway.

I'd say go with Wright Rubber. Service and price can't be beat IMO.

I've seen them a few times in DC, but only generic ones for more than new Wright bumpers cost.

Yeah, I've never seen them around Milwaukee either. I check the Chicago area quite a bit too just for kicks and haven't seen them there either.

Best bet is to just take the hit and get new ones. If you're not too picky about your equipment you can grab a few from Wright rubber for cheap off their "web specials" section. I got some 25kg(55lbs) and 35lbs for dirt cheap from there. Going to get some more of the 55lbers once I can afford them. Hope they're still running the deal then.

Jorge, they work quite well. I have a York Men's Needle Bearing Olympic Training Bar (#32110) and it fits perfectly.
