Sub for Rowing/Calories

I've "Task Priority Fight Gone Bad" coming up on Monday. I don't have access to a rower, so I'm not quite sure on what to sub for "Rowing, Calories", and in what ratio. SDLHPs are more or less out, since FGB already has them anyway.

From my search, people seem to be using all sorts of subs; especially Burpees. If I do use Burpees (and I shudder at the thought), I guess I'd sub 1 Burpee for 1 calorie, right? The ratio of reps : calories is what's most worrying me. I didn't find anything really definite on this point, so I'm hoping you can help me out.

Thanks for your input!

Re: Sub for Rowing/Calories

1-for-1 burpees for row cals is a fine sub. Most experienced males will pull 15-25 cals in each round of "FGB!". The burpees will have a similar feel in the legs and lungs, but might fatigue the shoulder more. I think heavy kettlebell swings would be a fine sub, as well - like the row, they'll smoke the posterior chain, work your grip a bit, and leave you out of breath.

Thanks! That's what I'll do, then.
