Jump stretch Flexbands

Anybody here use the Jump Stretch Flexbands??? I ordered some a couple of days ago...I want to use them for resisted sprints. But I'm not sure if I should cut them and make a long band out of two. Or loop two or three together and make a shorter band. Any suggestions?

Also, a friend of mine is wanting to "donate" a couple of medicine balls. Should I get the rubber, bouncy kind? Or the leather ones instead.

thanks guys!

Re: Jump stretch Flexbands

What are your goals with stretch bands? If it's increased speed, they're NOT a good idea.

Also, you don't need bouncy med balls.. nor would you probably want bouncy ones.

Re: Jump stretch Flexbands

I recently spent 2 hours with the inventor of the Jump Stretch bands. He is very passionate that they can help with speed, power, and strength. He had some great stories about how he has helped numerous athletes get back playing sooner than with traditional treatment options.

Personally, they are another tool that we can use in our ''toolbox''

Mike: For you, to use them in resisted sprints, you should loop 4 together. With 4 looped together, that would put you about 12' away from the stationary object they are attached. They are designed to travel about twice their distance, so you could work in a range from 12' to 24'(at the max)

I don't have enough experience to know whether you would get faster using them or not...and I have not given it that much thought to be honest.

What are your thoughts Steve?

Re: Jump stretch Flexbands

They're okay for a workout definitely.

For increasing your speed not really. You just have to do sprints and other plyometric work for that...

At least from what I've seen/read.

Re: Jump stretch Flexbands

For the most part, I'd like to use the flexbands as one more tool in conditioning my legs. Whether they help with speed and power - never really thought about it...I just want my legs to burn.

As far as the Med Balls - Will leather balls hold up to being thrown around? I'm looking at the Everlast Leather ball...I can't afford the dynamax med balls yet.
Hooverball, wall ball and some other throwing exercises will be my main focus. Once in a while I'll thow in the Med ball throw + Sprints.

So Leather Med ball it is, eh? Should I start light in weight like 10lbs? Or go 14-16lbs?

Re: Jump stretch Flexbands

I like to use them to train my double leg and level changes for BJJ. I also like to use them to train leg drive.
