Flooring

Guys,

I have read that if you go to a grain and feed center you can get cheap rubber mat for the gym. I have been looking where i am and have not located one yet.

What have you done to start with the floors in your affiliates?

Thanks you,

Judd

Re: Flooring

Judd,
Call around to the pet and farm supply places. You are looking for stall mats. Petco, PetSmart, etc has them or can order them.

Re: Flooring

I have a 3/8 rubber rolled matting that I am happy with so far. We would have saved some $ with stall mats, but not that much when we looked at hauling it and laying it. I got a great deal from iron company. 4'x20' rolls. easy to lay, easy to cut, and so far hols up really well.

Re: Flooring

horse stall mats cost about $40-45 per section (4'x6')
if purchasing alot, ask for a discount!
chances are, if you shop around, someone will hook you up with a discount
I called 5 places, told them I was shopping around for best price, and ended
up getting $45 mats for $38 each AND they delivered them free of charge!

Re: Flooring

Judd we got ours for $0.98 sq. ft. It was on clearance. Iron Company was unloading a bunch with no flaws. I have seen it for $1.54 so stall mats are cheaper. Get ALOT of quotes and look for deals.

Re: Flooring

My stepfather used to work at TSC - he said to check the Friday after thanksgiving because they run specials on the mats - and to definitely ask for a bulk purchase discount.

Re: Flooring

I've got the 3/8" rolled rubber and have no complaints. Easy to install, when glued down it doesn't move at all, no smell, not greasy and fairly easy to clean. I took the advice from a different post of using one of those carpet cleaner machines with a rotating brush to clean up chalky hand prints etc. and it works great.
