Band Assisted Pull-up Chart

I just finished a PDF document showing the amount of assist the various pull-up band combinations provide. You can print it out and put it up in your gym if you would like. You can download it from the beyond the whiteboard blog(there are color and BW versions). I hope everyone finds this useful.

Re: Band Assisted Pull-up Chart

Doesn't the brand of band make a difference? I have the IronWoody bands, for example.

Re: Band Assisted Pull-up Chart

We used Iron Woody's Bands for our measurements, but from what I've seen they all have the same resistances. There are sometimes slight color variations, e.g. red or pink, plain or purple, but they are otherwise the same.

Re: Band Assisted Pull-up Chart

Would 2 blue bands be closer to green+red or green+purple?

It's actually exactly in the middle of those two, apparently I overlooked that one. I'll update the pdfs to reflect that soon.

Re: Band Assisted Pull-up Chart

Jonathan,

Thanks for the chart. It will be a great tool for my wife. She works out with some friends in our garage and they are all working at getting their first pull-up. Tools and information like this are what make this such a great forum.

Re: Band Assisted Pull-up Chart

Would it be possible to reference the bands by their width in your article? We use the Jump Stretch bands, so I don't know what a blue band is, but I would know what a 1" band or 2" band was, etc.

Re: Band Assisted Pull-up Chart

Ok, I updated the pdfs on the blog. They now include the blue + blue combination, and I added the band widths at the bottom. Thanks for the suggestions.
