I've had a cough for the last week or so, as well as working out, and I have sore-ish abs.

The best way to describe it is they tense when I cough and then don't seem to release their tension for an additional few seconds and feel "tight."

Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Yes, not quite the same, but I've had a tight chest the last month which is noticeable when I am active, but not when I'm sat down. I don't have a hacking cough or anything but if I cough it clears the tension for a short time. I feel it around my upper chest and lower throat. There's no "gubbins" to cough up though. I've no idea what's caused it as I have never had asthma or respitory problems in the past.

As for sore abs, if you're coughing a lot, it can aggravate that, but have you been doing the WODs lately? Some of those are pretty hard on the old abs. :-)

Be careful, a friend of mine had a nasty cough for a while, and ended up literally pulling a muscle off her ribs, not at all comfortable.

I have had a cough for the past two weeks (still slightly lingering). It has affected my muscles, right above the abs. on the ribs. I feel them when I move certain ways (which I cant clearly identify) and of course if I cough again. I have not worked out in fear of making it worse since it has not healed. What are options of dealing with this? Ibuprofen and what not does not do anything.
