Homemade Pullup Bar question

I have a basement ceiling that is a little different than those detailed in previous posts, so I am looking for some insight on how to hang a pull up bar. Here are some pictures. I purchased a door frame model thinking it would work but the spaces are two close together. Thinking now of bolting two 2 x 10s from the rafters with a rafter in the middle and using that as a "frame" to place the bar in. Or tossing out the store bought model and purchasing equipment for a DIY model. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the help!

Re: Homemade Pullup Bar question

You could attach the, 2x10's and attach the bar, but I think you are better off going the DIY route.

How far apart are the beams?

Re: Homemade Pullup Bar question

I ended up dropping two 18 inch 2 x 10s from two of the rafters and attached the store-bought pull-up bar's hooks/latches to the ends of the 2x10s. So far, so good. Thanks for the comment.
