Re: The Chronicles of Brady

Yeah, I just decided to drop my tri that weekend. We're going to do the St. Patty's Day Dash on Greenville. People set up beer tables along the route. It's awesome. You should come out and do it! Nik is considering it.

What's the date? I'm doing an Oly cert at GSX March 14 and 15th. If it's on another day I might be able to make it though.

Re: The Chronicles of Brady

Oh, I feel that I have to brag on myself. I've never been able to do wide grip pullups, and just barely with a kip. I pulled 5 GOOD wide grips yesterday, in a row. I was flabbergasted. Can I use that word?

Nope, it's on the 14th! Dang. That would have been fun.

Re: The Chronicles of Brady

Not a good day for me. Warmed up. Proceeded with 5x3 OHS.

I have a HORRIBLE OHS. I can't do it correctly. I'm trying. I started with the bar and put on 10lbs per round. I think I would have done better to just stay with the bar for practice. Bad balance, my shoulder was popping, couldn't stay on my heels, and definitely couldn't get below parallel.

Then, I decided to salvage it with a run. I don't know if it was lack of food or my attitude, but I only got about half a mile.

I'm going to reflect after lunch. Maybe I can do something tonight. Maybe I'm just tired from this week. Monday and Tuesday were pretty brutal.

Re: The Chronicles of Brady

I've been bad about posting lately, but I'm still consistent with the workouts, although I missed Saturday.

Mr. Joshua. 200lb deadlift, Abmat situps. 23:34. Almost a minute faster than last time. Previously did unanchored situps.

Pretty happy. My wife started up her 5k training last night. We did some jog/walk around the neighborhood. I'm happy for her. She's been on a modified Paleo for about 2 weeks. She was down 5lbs this morning.

Re: The Chronicles of Brady

Good workout today, but I had to scale it. I did HSPU progressions (feet up) and did dead-hang tuck pullups. 11 minutes flat. I was pretty happy with it.

This one looked hard! You should be happy with that. Even tuck pullups are hard!

Re: The Chronicles of Brady

Thanks Vanessa!

Today was hard, but good.

5 Rounds for time 50 feet of walking overhead barbell lunge - 45 lbs
21 burpees

15:58. My shoulders feel like ground beef. I love it!

And... after lingering at 190 for about a week.... drumroll.... 189! Very excited. I'm hoping to be down close to 180 by my anniversary in March. I want to look good on the beach!

Re: The Chronicles of Brady

Barbara today.

1. 4:58
2. 4:38
3. 5:27
4. 5:27
5. 4:27

I squeezed every last ounce of energy out of my muscles to get that last round, and it ended up being my best. I started psyching myself out about 20 seconds before starting my last round. It was like Jack last week on 30 Rock. Awesome. I'm beat. Thanks for the good workout today, Coach!
