Re: The Chronicles of Brady

Since today's WOD doesn't have an official name, I'll give it one. Total Suck Fest. This was my first workout since GSX last Saturday. I strained my back doing the tire flips (with poor form). I took a couple days off, and then Christmas took over. I gained 4lbs in the past week. I woke up this morning and decided that instead of beating myself up, I would just get my butt to the warehouse and do the WOD.

6 rounds plus thrusters. SDHPs KILLED me. Thrusters and cleans were pretty good. I need to work on my deadlift form, badly.

Time to make up some ground. I'm back on the wagon, super-strict.

Yikes...I hate that about your back! It's better now?

I haven't even stepped on a scale. I wouldn't worry too much about the 4 lbs. It's probably mostly water. I felt like I was retaining an aquarium worth of water after eating way too much of my Dad's brined turkey.

Re: The Chronicles of Brady

Yeah, all better.

I'm sure I'm the same way. I was "ok" except for some sweets. We did eat a lot of ham, which is pretty high in sodium. I'm sure it'll come down by New Years.

Did you have a nice Christmas? Did you go to Louisiana?

You'll be fine.

I had a great Christmas. Mine's not completley over (December has been one long, extended party). I have another Christmas to celebrate on January 1st.

I did get to go home to Louisiana. Just got back last night, in fact. It was a pretty relaxing trip.

Re: The Chronicles of Brady

Exellent day today. PRs all around.

SP = 115, 125, 135, 145, 155(PR)
PP = 145, 155, 160, 165, 170(PR)
PJ = 95, 105, 115, 125 (PR), 140(PR)

My confidence on the jerks was really good today. Although, I did tell Nik I'd do the WOD in his honor today, since he's out on his back.

Re: The Chronicles of Brady

Oh, I forgot to mention my Christmas presents! Among other things, I ended up with a Buddy Lee speed rope, a small medicine ball for home, and I used some Christams money to order an Abmat.

On the injury-side, my wife bought me Heelys (we got some for our nephew). We'll see how long it takes me to break my arm or crack open my head.

Managed to shed a little holiday weight, so far. Back down to 194 from 195.5. Just in time for our massive family New Year's spaghetti dinner. Enough simple carbs to kill a horse... or at least give it diabetes.

Re: The Chronicles of Brady

Kinda sick yesterday, took the day off.

Today I had to get a short workout in, due to family stuff.

Blackjack - 22:14. Harder than it seems.

Happy New Year!

Re: The Chronicles of Brady

Death by C&J today.

Made it easily through round 4. Round 5 was hard. Round six was incomplete.
