Truth or B.S.?

Is there any truth to negative calorie foods. Negative calorie foods are foods that use more calories to consume than they actually provide?

Re: Truth or B.S.?

I'm calling BS on this one.

Negative calories? So in theory, one could eat 3000 calories in "positive calorie" foods then, at the end of the day, eating whatever amount of "negative calorie" foods it takes to drop the net calories down to 2000?

The way I'm interpreting the article, is that there are some foods that require more energy to digest than it actually supplies. I just don't think it works that way. Maybe I'm reading it wrong.

Re: Truth or B.S.?

I secong BS on this list.
It can be easily proven wrong: eat only "negative" foods for a week. I'm sure you will survive without any problems eating tomatos, mangos, apples and vegetables. Now think how you would have survived if you hadn't eaten at all. you would be probably be near death. according to the "negative calorie theory" you should be in a far worse place after eating only these foods for a week. I don't see that happening.

There is no question what so ever that it's BS. The fruit choices make me laugh! So I should be able to eat a whole apple pie everyday without getting fat as long as I include enough apples. Sounds good to me!! I like the celery example too. 5 cals in a stalk but 150 to digest!!
