Re: Pretty new to Crossfit and struggling with breakfast

Hi I'm pretty new to crossfit too. I eat about 90% paleo. My favorite breakfast is sweet potato fries and omelet with different veggies or turnip hash browns and omelet. Some times I add shrimp or bacon too

Re: Pretty new to Crossfit and struggling with breakfast

Is it as awesome as eggs, cheese, and bacon or sausage?

OK, I rest my case.

I eat a 6 egg omelet
w/ spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes and Serrano peppers in it.
4 pcs of bacon
a whole avocado
a banana
and a protein shake.

Its a great start to my day.

Re: Pretty new to Crossfit and struggling with breakfast

I intermittent fast 4-5 days a week, and with excellent results. I augment MCT oil as soon as I wake but generally eat nothig til midday. No coffee either for my adrenal health. IF is very beneficial for neuroendocrine health too. On days prior of events or extraordinary training Ill eat different. Days I dont train 2400 calories with a fat, protein leaning macro, training days up to 4500 calories with bunch of slow carbs added, in the evening. I dont completely subscribe to Paleo because at a certain point a low carb:ketogenic diet needs to have carbs but the right ones. I follow Mike Dolce and generally Nate Miyaki's approach on nutrition. 41 yrs old 226lbs vary between 9-12 bf%

I like eggs. I might eat 10 a day. Texting and driving is 600,000 times more of a worry than eating eggs in a day...

I only CF 3-4 times a week. If I eat this amount each morning with my regular meals and snacks I am going to explode. Nonetheless this sounds interesting - do you eat the avocado and banana separately or prepare it in with the omelet?
