That was a very good point made within the article.
I've found that ego gets the best of most, and regardless of misses, they retain the weight and try to "grind through" the movements. I have friends that own their own boxes, so I'll inquire how they are instructing misses and bailing.... Thanks for the post! |

Good article!
I always sorta had a rule for myself. If I missed 2 or 3 times, I dropped weight. Even if I knew it wasn't a strength issue. I'd drop weight and rep my way back up reinforcing better form, as well as confidence in the lift. |

When I started at Mad City CrossFit, they did teach us how to dump the barbell. We practiced at light weights so the coaches could see that we knew what to do to fail properly. We also practiced spotting. This was part of the intro class before we ever had a heavy day trying for a one rep max. I think they did a great job with this.
