Subtle Pain in Knee from Deadlifts and Squats
I had both knees injured during the summer. Left knee was worse. Area above knees felt sore for months. Left knee had pain on left side. Hard to say now but probably caused by squats with stupid form, knees not spread wide enough, crotch not shown enough. Pushed back hips instead on high bar back squats, zerchers, front squats. Also did jefferson squats.
Seems to have healed but always felt a bit tender. Old thread http://board.crossfit.com/showthread.php?t=76702
Played around with low hips deadlift form and re-injured it again. Stopped deadlifting but kept squatting. Seemed fine. Had even less discomfort doing high bar squats with proper form. Did Romanian Deadlifts for a few weeks, just learning the lift up to 180 lbs. Hamstrings felt sore and I would squat after a day with no problems. This was for two weeks.
Then did conventional deadlifts again, 300 lb for 12, 8 reps. Knees felt bad again, squatted a day after and couldn't do 235 which I did the previous week, managed 2 sets of 205x5.
Two days later tried 235 again and felt pain in left knee.
During the months between recent injury and summer one I deadlifted up to 370 lbs, had no knee sensations. But usually tender from squats. My knee spread/crotch show wasn't enough until two months ago.
Do I have a muscle imbalance? Bad form? Permanently injured knee?
