Are there any BJJ folks here from the Cleveland area?

We run a Hapkido school (all adult) and would love to have an experienced BJJ player to workout with and help teach us. We do a fair amount of ground work and want to do more. I've rolled with some real BJJ guys and they are totally awesome.

Bill,

There is a Relson Gracie chapter in Lake County that rolls at New World Karate in Eastlake and Griffon/Rawls in Mentor. The guys there aren't crossfitters but they know their Ju-jitsu. All the guys did real well at the NAGA tournament two weeks ago.

Also, if Lake County is to far for you there is a brown belt, Don Park, who runs a BJJ school in Cleveland Hts. He's very good.

Email me if you want more info on times of classes. The guys I roll with have classes almost everyday of the week.

Thanks Aaron,

I sent Don an email for some additional info on his classes. I will most likely drop in on a class this week or next.

Do you roll in Eastlake or with Don? I'm on the west side, both schools are about the same drive time for me so I could do either, depending on class times.

Bill,

I roll in Eastlake. Here's a link to their website http://www.gracieohiobjj.com/

I know about Don because he stopped by our school once to see how we do things. The Lake County Chapter is currently in the process of changing their location to Griffon Rawls in Mentor, but they will have classes this week in Eastlake Tues, Thurs, Sat.

I typically go three times a week Mon and Weds at Griffon Rawls (a much better facility) and Sat at the Eastlake location. Here's a link to Griffon Rawls http://www.griffonrawl-ohio.com/

Class times are:

Mon/Weds 8:00pm-9:30pm (Griffon Rawls)
Tues/Thurs 7:00pm-9:00pm (NWK in Eastlake)
Sat 3:00pm (Eastlake)

They also have a Sunday morning class and we're trying to start an early Friday night class.

I've exchanged a few emails with Don Park today. I plan on visting his school this week. He recommended that I check out your group, along with another BJJ school in Macedonia. I do listen to advice so I will be seeing you soon.

Thanks again for your response.
