Re: UFC 115 Liddell vs Franklin

I kinda surprised more people aren't pulling for Condit.

Re: UFC 115 Liddell vs Franklin

I'm pulling for Condit even though I like what I see from MacDonald. Condit is hard to finish and perhaps that will discourage the youngster.

Pulling for Chuck but he may disappoint. Both guys have had their troubles against younger faster opponents. If they both start landing shots on each other it'll be interesting to see if Chuck's chin is any better. I'm pretty sure if he lands a hard right on Rich he'll TKO him.

Barry vs CroCop should be a great kickboxing match. I've got Barry.

Thiago over Martin

Don't really care about the others. Wasn't looking to see this card but my friend one block over is hosting the PPV and serving up the drinks. Too easy.

We also have a local theater that charges $10 and has a bar set up. Never been to check it out.

Re: UFC 115 Liddell vs Franklin

My only comment is I'm pulling for Franklin because I think he's 100% class and Cro Cop because I yearn to see him return to his Pride days (though i fear it won't happen).

Re: UFC 115 Liddell vs Franklin

Agree that it's a good card and that will play out even better than on paper

Chuck Liddell vs Rich Franklin via decision
Paulo Thiago vs Martin Kampmann via KO/Sub
Cro Cop vs Pat Barry via (T)KO in RD1
Ben Rothwell vs Gilbert Yvel via decision
Carlos Condit vs Rory MacDonald via decision
Tyson Griffin vs Evan Dunham via decision
Mac Danzig vs Matt Wiman via decision

Enjoy the fights!

That is freakin awesome. Nothing like that around here...

That's about as likely as Wanderlei returning to the old Pride days, or the UFC becoming as good as Pride was in the old days for that matter.

Condit/MacDonald was a war! That was a great fight.

I did, the kid was getting pounded and not intelligently defending himself. I think the ref made the right call in protecting the fighter. That being said, MacDonald was impressive as hell and looked like a young GSP. He's going to be a beast in a few years if he keeps going!

Crop Cop wasn't the Cro Cop of old but he definately showed that he's got something left in the tank. Though I think Barry respected him a bit too much by not following up on those rights that dropped him. Barry's a fierce striker but his technique is sloppy.

Overall I thought this was an excellent card, alot of fun fights to watch.

Re: UFC 115 Liddell vs Franklin

btw my favorite part was after the Liddell/Franklin fight Joe asked about Franklin's broken arm and if he would've been able to answer the bell for the second round...Franklin shot Joe a "whatchu talkin bout willis" look and said "are you kidding me?"

He may be past his prime, but dude is still a warrior

I do not feel real strongly about it one way or another but, if I had been the ref, I would definitely not have stopped it. MacDonald was still intelligently defending. I believe that fighters at that level deserve every chance to fight it out if they can. There are a lot of fights that I would have let go longer. It is what it is though.
