Re: The Mutation from Man to Machine...

9/4/8

New Speed Cable Jump Ropes came in today... Yippee!

Warm-Up:

-15 Minute Jump Rope Training

Push Press 3x3
3 - 160#
3 - 180#
3 - 180#

These felt heavy... I did my best to move up from 180#, but just couldn't do it today...

25 - Abmat Unanchored Sit-Ups

Hang Power Cleans 5x5
5 - 125#
5 - 145#
5 - 145#
5 - 145#
5 - 145#

My form is getting much better on these. I kept the weight at 145# to keep my form tight. These felt better then ever...

-15 Minute Jump Rope Training

WOD:
5 Rounds:
10 - Double Unders
25 - Ring Push-Ups, Feet Elevated 24"

Time - 13:03

Today was my first day to really experience a jump roping session. I've done a small amount of jump roping in the past when I used to box more, but today was the first hardcore jumping day.

Needless to say... I was smokin' those Double Unders!!! My last round I hit 10 consecutive DU's... Considering the fact I have never really done these, I think that's great. I have some natural jump roping skills... Bout' time I found something I'm good at

On to the next day...

Yeah bud, I'm sure we're not physically too far off from each other... With our height and weight distribution.

You ARE young dude! Holy ****!!! You are lucky as hell to have found CF at such a young age... You've got potential to be an All-Star by the time you're my age. Man, I'm jealous...

Stick with it...

Re: The Mutation from Man to Machine...

I switched from CrossFit to SS on Monday with the GOMAD. Instead of gaining weight I lost weight, doesn't make any sense.

Just give it some time man... Make sure you're still eating a lot, in addition to the milk, and lifting heavy ****. It will come.

Re: The Mutation from Man to Machine...

David,
Congrats on the earlier PRs. I've been looking at your log, is there any chance you need to take a half volume week or week off? I only say that because of how hard you've been going and some of your subjective comments about how the last few workouts have gone.

Re: The Mutation from Man to Machine...

Hey man, I saw your posts after getting sucked into the Heavy Metcon thread, coupled with your DL PR entry. I figured it would be a good thing for me to take a look into your log. Really strong efforts, from what I can see. Congrats on your ongoing mutation.

Just some thoughts after checking out your log:
-that ring pushups/DUs workout from a few days back looks really sick, I think I'll try it soon.
-nice work on your HSPUs, and your Diane time for that matter
-how's your diet?
-please continue to keep posting on your IF ventures
-do you work out at home, globo, Affiliate?
-I just saw the ERPU/HSPU, and wanted to cry
-I totally agree with the post a ways back about Karen WOD benefitting your BS, not to mention it's a terrible and brutal WOD.

Thanks for the kind words Dave!

To answer some of your questions...

-That Elevated Ring Push-Ups and Double Under workout may sound easy enough, but man... I haven't been sore like that after a workout in a long while... It's a keeper. I'm probably going to up the DU's next time to 15 or so.

-HSPU's and Deadlifts have become two of my specialties so I really love "Diane"...

-My diet is pretty tight most of the time. I'm a Paleo guy, so I just eat pounds of meat and fish, mixed vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit... You know the drill. No grains, no dairy. If I could only cut out the alcohol on the weekends, then I think my mutation would take place a hell of a lot faster...

-I usually IF only on the weekends, and it's usually around 12 to 15 hours or so. I am going to do my best to get a little more involved with this, I'll keep you posted. It's just really hard for me to do on a regular basis because I love to eat, and do it often...

-I work out of my garage gym, which is pretty Bad *** if you ask me...

-The Elevated Ring Push-Up and HSPU Max Reps WOD was just ****ing stupid man... Absolutley horrible. Very bad combo. Like I said before, normally I can smoke both of those exercises, but after doing the HSPU's... Those ERPU's just don't happen...

-Hell yeah! I have yet to try "Karen" but my friend Kim has been on my *** to do it, so I'm gonna give it a (wallball) shot here soon

Keep checking back Dave, I will do my best to keep you entertained...

-David
