Shin + Dome = bad news.

Looks like Silva was expecting something much lower when that leg came up.

Why did CC walk out of the ring and look all angry after winning?

Well, Silva had eaten a few of those kicks to the body already and was already showing signs of serious damage there, so I'm sure he was wanting to protect that. Plus his right eye was so swollen I doubt he could see much out of it.

CroCop didn't express anything in the broadcast afterwards about having been angry -- probably he was just trying to stay focused and get back to his locker room since he still had to fight Barnett that evening.

Brutal fight.

I read that he was angry because he got injured.

That makes sense, having to fight back to back like that is a killer. It really sucks when you get injured on something stupid.

This was a few days ago, and I'm just coming to terms with it =)

I've certainly favored Silva ever since CroCop spent all his time running around the ring vs Mark Hunt. But wowsa... can't argue with this match. We're gonna be seeing that one in highlight reels for the next five years.

I did not expect Crocop to dominate Wand. I believe Wand would have taken the decision the first fight, so I thought the fight would go along the same lines. It's amazing what a little confidence on the ground gives a striker.

Daniel,
I believe Mark Hunt puts Muhammed Ali to shame when it comes to taking punches, that man has no knockout mechanism.

Becca,
You are so right it's not funny about Wands damage to the body, I don't know if he could have taken another unblocked kick to the midsection.

Forgive my ignorance of the promotion this fight was under (K1? PRIDE?), but how do multiple fights in the same 24 hours sit with state athletic commissions?

I mean, NSAC, NYSAC, even the tribal commissions hand out medical suspensions like candy (a good thing, IMO), and those things last months.
