last night i did 41 pullups. The way I did them was, I did 28 and then after that i got really tired so I let one arm off the bar and hung there with my other arm for several seconds and just kept switching off, cranked a few more pullups, switched off one arm after another. I just kept doing this until I hit 41, then ran back home with very stiff arms lol. At no point were my legs touching the ground during pullups. I did quality pullups with arms fully stretched and went all the way up. Do any of you do pullups in this sort of fashion?

Wow. I think my grip would just give out. I think training your grip and then trying such a strategy would be very productive. I saw those two girls do that in the kipping video posted on the main page a few months ago. They rested 2-3 seconds between reps at the bottom.

Myron,
The grip strength needed to complete an additional 13 reps is tremendous. I can do 40+ pull-ups but my grip won't last for more than a minute or so. The way you described your set, it sounds like you were hanging for a couple of minutes at least. Nice job! Phil |
