Hello from Germany
Greetings to everyone!
I know about crossfit for around a year and now i finally started the wods. Before crossfit i was not quite sure how to train, i started with bodyweight exercises only for half of a year until i bought a rack, a barbell and some weights. Trying out everything i found on the internet i came to Pavel and his beloved Kettlebells, so i thought why not and bought a pair of those. In addition to these i invested some money into elite rings. I just thought i would be glad to have all these tools, but the opposite was the case. Too many things, ideas, plans and opinions made me so confused that in the end i just did not know how to organize my training in order to achieve the most benefits. Crossfit came in my mind and here i am. When i watched the crossfit videos as motivation i always thought "Damn, they can't be human" and well, from my point of view they definitely are not. But hey, i just started and a long path lies in front of me, maybe one day i will make a wod video that proves i can be the same... yeah, for sure :P For two weeks now iam doing the scaled wods from brandx and iam quite happy with this. Most wods are simply too much for me right now, but what shall i say, it does not have to be fun to be fun... I wish good luck and success in training to all the other new crossfitters and of course to the more experienced too. Have a nice day! Kind regards, Stephen V. |

![]() ![]() and welcome to CrossFit. I'm happy to see another guy from good old Germany here in this forum. We are still not enough, but hopefully CrossFit will also spread over Germany. Best regards Tobias P. |

Welcome to CrossFit!
It's nice to hear that CF is making it's way into Europe. I'm living in Canada now but my wife is Swiss and we plan to move there within a year. My hope is to open CrossFit Switzerland. Her family lives right on the German border, so we'll probably set up in that area. Keep on training and watch for CF Switzerland! Chus! |

Say, James -
What part of the border do you have in mind? I live just outside of Zurich. I train in my basement and outside my apartment building but I've been thinking about looking for some kindred spirits. |

Re: Hello from Germany
Hi Mike,
I also live near the German border, in Basel. I have also been looking for some others here doing Crossfit. There is also a guy in Luzern called Doug Thackrey who is on the boards. We should arrange a group workout or something. James |
