I'm 5'9, 170 and 41 years young. I've been crossfitting for about 2 years. I rarely post, but I keep up with the conversations on this board. Crossfit works; that's all there is to it. I'm in phenomenal shape for my age. I'm at about 8-9% bodyfat, can DL and squat more than 2X bodyweight and my latest 5k would have put me in 3rd place (for my age) in a local race. Other than a 3 minute row that I call my warmup, all I do is crossfit. I'm in and out of the gym before the bodybuilders get half way through working their anterior deltoid. My "sport" is taking care of three young kids. I've always eaten pretty healthy, but I don't prescribe to any diet. I have considered the zone, but I am a former chef who is now a chef-instructor at a state college. I just enjoy food way too much to weigh out my protein or count the number of almonds I have for a snack. I'm sure my results would improve if I conformed to the Zone, but I'm pretty happy with where I am. Thanks Coach, and thanks to all of you who post here.

Dave, great results! Being a chef, I bet you know the approximate volume of food your consuming, and I would bet you instinctively eat proper portions. Me, I was clueless as to what 5 oz of chicken looked like...or that I even needed to eat 5 oz of meat, so the whole weighing and measuring thing was a godsend for me. Wish I enjoyed cooking though!

Doesn't sound average to me. Extraordinary. Good job.
