An intersting side effect from a Newbie...

I've only been on the kool aid for 6 weeks but I really felt the need to tell everyone this. I started cross fit to increase fat loss and get in better condition.

A little background. I own a heating and a/c business in south Ga. Needless to say it can be pretty hectic on a daily basis. I've noticed over the years a definite increase in alcohol consumption. I'd say for at least the last 3 or 4 years I'm a daily drinker. Either 2 or 3 beers, maybe a couple of bourbons, every night. Sometimes more.

On the way home from my first WOD I was thinking "man I'm ready for a drink".....then I thought about it. I really didn't want it. It's been 6 weeks and I only had a drink during the week 2 or 3 times.

I get the WOD was acting in place of the alcohol as a stress reliever. It's working for me.

Really good that you have found something good to use in place of the alcohol consumption!

I have definately found that Crossfit is a stress reliever for me as well. I always feel better after a WOD than I did before.

Good luck and keep heading in the direction you are traveling now!

That is so cool.

I haven't gotten that to work against ice cream yet.

There's you living longer. Well done!

You yummmm . . . and so addictive!!

P.S. I noticed the stress reduction too. A good hard workout after a cr*p day at work is so very good (especially when it is over!). Been CFing since February and although my times suck and I have to scale just about everything I am improving every time! CF is the best, it rocks
