Awesome thread -

I think the trainer or coach, as others have said, are crucial to scaling and changing the perspective, meaning and relavence (sp) to their potential and current clients goals.

I'm a big believer that no one is 'lazy' per say, but rather their goals aren't in line with what they truly want.

If someone's goals are well structured its really down to the trainer to steadliy build up the work load, and discover client's fears about training and help them work through them.

When clients start seeing results they will start putting in effort you never thought "that type" of person could ever do.

In simple terms, lazy can become driven...

I was the "slow learner" when I first started aikido. The tense, uncoordinated person no one expected would stick around past the three month beginner program.

But that was 16 years ago. Most of the people who didn't think I'd stick around are gone themselves, while I'm still plodding along.

The tortoises get there, too.
