Re: Video Tour of Freund Gym

Robert,

I think that the first two videos in your post are the same. I would really like to see the overview of the rack system that you designed.

Hi Joel.

Shoot, you are right. I did simply repeat the link.

Here is the link to my Samson Power Rack:

congrats on the customized stuff and the family logo, I love that idea !!!
(too bad the family isn't really using it thou)

Hi Thijs.

Thank you for the nice comments.

Unfortunately, simply HAVING the heavy dumbbells does not necessarily mean that I am that strong. Nor does having the cool adjustable plyo box mean that I can jump that high.

I would guess that by CrossFit standards (with the balance of metcon and strength and endurance) I am reasonably strong, but all it takes is talking to some of the UT-Austin powerlifters to quickly put me in my place!!!!

My realistic (I hope) goal for the next 6 months is to finally reach my targets (by my 48th birthday on 12 June) of 200/300/400/500 in the press/bench/squat/deadlift. I am pretty close and am trying to train intelligently, so I think I will make it. Not great by any means, but not bad for a tall, lean, older guy (6'-5" and 220 lbs at 47 1/2 years old).

Louie Simmons just posted an Elite in a powerlifting competition at the age of 62!!!! So, that right there kind of shows how lame my lifts really are ...

Oh well, the great thing about training is that it is competition against yourself and it really doesn't matter what anyone else can do!!!!

All the best,
brittf

You should start Crossfit Freund.

Are you going to sell the leg press? My wife would kill me if I hardly used a 1 tonne machine that sat in the middle of a room.

Finally, the youtube link for your rack tour is not correct (it goes to the gym overview)
Hi Brett.

Yes, there has been some "discussion" around the Leg Press . Not one of my better moves!!!!

However, it DOES provide incentive to getting that outbuilding built on the ranch and get some of this equipment out there !!!!

I posted the correct link. Thanks for the heads-up...

OMG, didn't even see the rack.

That really really is a piece of art!

I love the bar row attachement, that is a fine exercise, love to swing the bar around

Good luck with reaching your goals!
With such a 'drug room' and good training scedule it will be an easy task, the equipment is yelling at you to pick them up
