My affiliate did them using a dip belt. Put the athlete's hands and feet on (large, stable) boxes, with the weight hanging down in the middle. You'll need to adjust height and/or chain length so the weight doesn't hit the floor at the bottom. (Or else do them Westside style, with accommodating resistance...)

A weight vest would also work. As noted above, plates are tough to load up without help.

We bench for heavy chest/arm work. Easy and safe with a spotter.

Weighted push-ups are fine as long as the weight can be contained in a vest or backpack so it won't move around.

I would be willing to bet someone out there hurt themselves trying to stack weights on their back. Shifting loads are dangerous and how joints get hurt.

Sometimes you need to apply a little common sense.
