Street Fighter: Ken or Ryu?

Because Ryu is represented as an Avatar by another member on this board I felt that Ken (the superior character) needed representation.

Ken FTW

PSH. Uh No. The fella you see in my avatar is "Guy." The only true Ninja in Street Fighter and he would smoke them both.

Between Ryu and Ken though. Definitely Ryu. He's more dedicated.

Your avatar is pretty sweet though.

Re: Street Fighter: Ken or Ryu?

I see that Ken has taken the minimalist approach to footwear, whereas Guy looks like he's wearing some Pumps.

I'll take Ken.

You'll also notice that Ken wears glove.

I hope he has a purse to match.

Re: Street Fighter: Ken or Ryu?

There was talk way back in those days that Guy was a representation of Ryu. You can see some similarities.

Ryu was always my go to guy though, or Guile. I was actually good with all them from SF2. My favorite thing to do was reset the game Dhalsim, the old glitch kind of like Guile's drunken monkey.

God do I miss those days.

No kidding, we had a 7-11 down the street from our junior high. It had a SF2 in the corner and god knows I burned through alot of lunch money playing it. It was a blessing when Sega released it on console with the same 6 button configuration that the arcade console had.

Ken was my favorite, greater range on the dragon-punch and a bit faster than Ryu. But I was no slouch with the rest of the characters either. Good times, good times.

Hey for $1800 we could re-live our youth forever. (link is WFS)

Re: Street Fighter: Ken or Ryu?

Yeah I used to spend all kinds of money in quarters with my brother at the pizza shot in town on SF2.

I think it took me like 5 bucks to get to the last level. Haha.

I can't remember who my favorite was back then. I was never really a fan of playing Ryu or Ken because I felt like they were too slow. They are devastating characters in the hands of people who really know how to use them. That's why I always like Guy though in the Alpha series. He's so fast.

Re: Street Fighter: Ken or Ryu?

So good! SF2 was the best arcade game! EVER!!!!

I was always a Ryu fan myself, but I was too young to really know the difference between him and Ken.

I was a big fan of Sagat as well (once Champ. Edition came out), and his stage had the best music in the game.

So many quarters......
