Re: CFSB - Ask your questions here!

Did any of the crash test dummies alter their diets for the program? At 37 yo I need to do what I can to maximize recovery as I'm sure Bingo is aware. Any suggestions?

Re: CFSB - Ask your questions here!

Marcus, our ages were all over the map. I think Kempie is in his early to mid-30's. Jeff and I are both 49. Teenagers, 20's, men, women...we had it all!

I think we all pretty much danced with the diet date be brung to the dance. I am a moderately strict zoner, 2x fat, susceptible to good vodka and better wine. Jeff does what he calls "Zone lite", basically eyeballing meals in zonish proportions. A couple of the other CTD's admit to rather poor diets.

In the end the better the diet the better the performance, gains, recovery. No different from MP Crossfti.

Re: CFSB - Ask your questions here!

Jerry,
posted on p6 of this thread about how he would increase his weight dramatically for each of his 3 heavy sets. As I understand Jerry, his last set is the real heavy lifting or money set. The first few sets are more like warm ups. This has me confused because my understanding was that if we hit a PR we stop even before we finish all of our sets.

So far, my experience with CFSB is that my legs are very sore and I need more recovery. I really hope Jeff does a CFSB page similar to the CFE page. I would also like to know how CFSB mixes with CFE and other activities.

Thank you.

Re: CFSB - Ask your questions here!

I just re-read the article and didn't see it in this thread (so I apologize if it is...) but how come the gymnastics/skills development comes after the metcon? Is that to make sure you have time to do your lifting/metcon and then just finish off the session playing around and practicing?

Michael,

Apologies for any confusion.

The objective is to get the PR for that exercise and recover enough to keep the process going.

A lot is going to depend on your age, ability, potential etc.

If I was younger, my working sets would be much close together as I'm sure I could recover better when I was 20 ;-)

I am also trying to improve on the 'warm up' sets as you put it. To me they just feel like work.

So I might get 100, 130, 156

Next time I would try 100, 135, 157
Then 110, 135, 158

Now, if you have one of those days where you go in the gym and feel like you can lift the world (I get them every now and then, generally after a long layoff) and I came in and did
130, 157,
then I would stop and call it a day as I had got my PR

Jerry

Re: CFSB - Ask your questions here!

Chris,
I'm doing my gym/skills right after the warmup b/c after ME and metcon I have no desire to do anything else, plus could not imagine having the energy to do anything constructive. I mostly work on front levers, L-sits, MU's, and OHS.

Re: CFSB - Ask your questions here!

Brian, that's exactly how I feel and why I was wondering about putting it last.
