Interesting you should ask about that particular backpack, because my brother actually has it! I personally have not used any of their bags, so I will direct him to this thread to give his impressions.

He also recently went to China for 9 days for his company (an appliance retailer) and only took this bag. He wrote a blog about the trip - http://fastpackchina.tumblr.com/ (wfs). Alright- this one is right up my alley!

Yeah, I just spent 9 days in China on business and I ONLY packed the DSGear Light Battlepack, as Alex noted.

I would say that the pack is medium-sized, but it's really well-designed, with lots of space and plenty of pockets. It's mostly made of hemp, which has a number of strong points (natural anti-bac, etc.) in addition to being cool.

I think it'd be a great gym bag.

DSGear also has a larger style of backpack and a few duffels- I dig the gear, and the company is pretty cool, too. They focus a lot on MMA and BJJ guys, but I think the bags are great for Crossfit.

Thanks for the reply. I will be using this mainly a backpack for school, but I will want to have it available for different uses (gym, travel, etc.)

I would also buy it in advance for when I backpack through Japan, it is on my list within the next 5 years!

And yeah, I am loving their style/how they go about their gear.

It works. A little pricey but I like how it segregates stuff and has different pockets. I'm also kind of a gear whore though too.

oh and yes we took many notes from the rush packs, i love 511 gear. but our material is very different as are the shoulder straps and the interior is totatally different. just the main body style and MOLLE are the same, of course they also take some of their designs from other military bags so the industry is a little inbred that way.
