Need a little help. I'm having a medical procedure on Monday and need to be on a clear liquid diet on Sunday. I'm not sure if I will be able to really do this, but if I can avoid going a day withour protein that would be great. Does anyone know of a protein source that is liquid and clear? It can't be opaque like milk.

Otherwise it's 24 hours of jello:sad:

Isopure in the bottle? I'm not sure I understand why it has to be "clear"....then again I am not a doctor.

Talk to Barry Bonds. He had some "clear" that worked wonders for him.

When your doctor said clear liquids only I think he may not have foreseen you hunting down a clear protein drink...could be wrong. What DID your doctor say?

Said clear liquids with the usual suspects: jello, broth, fruit juice. i'll be giving him a call to clarify, but I thought I'd take a chance that one of you all might have a suggestion. Granted I may not be able to use the suggestion. I'm hoping I won't have to trudge through the whole day on Sunday without protein, in addition to the prep for the procedure. Although I'm not nearly bummed enough to go the raw egg white route!!

Hey Doc, hope everything is alright, good luck, keep us posted. How about this (clear, probably tastes like snot):

Knox Gelatin:

Nutrition Facts
Serving Size 1 envelope (11.0 g)
Amount Per Serving
Calories 41
Calories from Fat 1
Total Fat 0.1g
Saturated Fat 0.0g
Monounsaturated Fat 0.0g
Cholesterol 0mg
Sodium 18mg
Total Carbohydrates 2.7g
Protein 7.4g

Vitamin A 0% • Vitamin C 50%
Calcium 1% • Iron 1%

I got nothing else!

Larry:

It's all good! 47,000 mile check, just covering the bases on some bad family history. Prep is waaayyy worse than test, regardless of whether I can "get over" on the clear liquids thing.

Thanks for the advice all!

yeah, knox gelatin DOES taste like snot, unless you put something in it.

check this out...

making jello involves using boiling water...a good way to add flavor (but not a lot of sugar) to jello is to brew tea (green works pretty well) and use that to make the jello. you need to brew it really strong, and add a little bit of sugar.

knox gelatin texture is a little more gummy than jell-o brand, too.

Going with the Iosopure. Clear as a bell. Will give my doctor a call and confirm that it's OK. You're definitely right, though, Jibreel. My boy didn't plan on me hunting down some protein!
