You folks are truly a creative bunch!
We'll put in as many of these events as time (and their energy allows). The relay races, team standing broad jump, wheelbarrow races etc. all should be exhaustingly fun. We'll get photos of as many events as possible. Thanks again! |

Sled dragging or car pushing is always fun.

Ooo, car pushing is REALLY Fun! When we had winter training, we would have to push a 15 passenger van back and forth in a field...It's awesome when the guy inside puts the breaks on.

Tire Pulls for distance/time/or amount of tires able to pull or even tire tosses--sprint then toss again. or you can sub a med ball for the tire tosses.

Tony,
Not a joke bro. I saw the movie (a classic, by the way) and went online to find out about leagues. I emailed the Federation and got the job. ;) I used to play DB in my workout classes (along with Ultimate Frisbee) and if you got hit, you had to knock out pushups or bootstrappers. Being the ringleader of the torture sessions, I was usually the main target. It's amazing how agile you can get with 4 dodgeballs whizzing at you at one time. hahaha! |

Don't know if anyone said this. I just thought it up. Take two tires, place them maybe 50-100 feet apart and make two finish lines reasonable distanced beyond those two tires. Have someone stand in the middle and once told to, sprint back and forth between each tire flipping it once in opposite directions towards each tire's finish line and then sprinting back to the opposite tire to do the same. I'm not great at explaining my idea, but hopefully you got the point. Have fun!

I'm not sure what Ultimate fresbee is, but it made me think about fresbee golf with a medicine ball. It would be a LOT more fun IMO.

Roger,
Think of Ultimate Frisbee as a cross between football and soccer. The major difference being that you can't run with the frisbee. Once you catch it, you have to stop, look for someone that is open, and pass it to them. Essentially, everyone is a quarterback and wide receiver at any given time. Tons of stop and go action. |

Scrapper, the CrossFit Gulf Coast Field Day is next Saturday from 10:00-noon.
I think the location we were at this morning for the Basic Training would be excellent. I'm sure you'll be there with your "bag of tricks", right? I'll be picking up some extra sledge hammers, ropes, etc.throughout the week. See you there (bring your camera, okay?). |
