Why should they stop CrossFitting Christopher? I look at this like I do the 100 burpees, just add it into your daily workout routine.

Re: 100 push ups

I followed this program with crossfit and got to 67 without stopping. The last week is really tough and almost impossible.

Good luck with the program. I stand by my claim that more people can run a marathon than those that can do 100 strict push ups. Had an arguement with some friends about this.

I think 100 Straight Push-Ups is an awesome achievement, so why not pursue it?

Re: 100 push ups

I just joined the forum and plan to start the routine today (the one at http://hundredpushups.com/). I currently max at high 30's which puts me in week 3 of the 6 week program.

I've been trying to increase my max for a few months now but seem to be stuck at my current level. I'll report back in a few weeks and let everyone know how it worked for me.

Re: 100 push ups

Reason I'm doing this: It's easy to do at home. It will help me get full push ups during the entirety all of my WOD's. It's a good addition to what I'm already doing. It's an upper body movement (my weakness).

I'm still on week one and so far, so good. I might push it a little faster and harder than Rx'd though...

Cheers,
Sydney

I just think, whenever you start a program with a very clear set objective, prescribed reps and rest days, you can't expect to really get the full results from that program when combining it with another program. (Especially when that other program is as demanding as Crossfit.)

That said, if using 100 pushups as an auxiliary program has helped someone get to 67 perfect pushups, that's awesome. Those are results worth mentioning.

By the way, I think the 100 burpee challenge is nonsense as well, for those who actually do days 50 - 100.

Re: 100 push ups

100 is the max for me on the PT test so . . . I'm doin' it. Just started on week 4. Fairly easy compared to the WOD's. I'll keep doin' 'em both. Then i'll try out the sit-ups thing. Those are on the PT test too. Now if I can knock a min. off my 2 mile. . .
