Unless there's a bunch of superhuman holdouts, that score will TORCH the rest of the world. I'll be very curious to see what score he posts on the follow-up.

Re: 14.2 strageties/ scores

Did this on Saturday, scored a 176, ripped my left hand too. It was all over after that as I had to do pull up singles in the round of 16.

As far as the opening of the hips. I locked all my reps at the knees, that is how I judged myself where I was in terms of opening the hips. The "hip thrust" people were doing is silly as far as I am concerned. Just need to stand straight up. I had a judge too and got called for one rep in the set of 10. Unless it is blatant and consistent I can't see where the issue is.

It is possible to lock your knees, yet fall noticeably short of opening the hips fully and fulfilling the CF standard for full extension at the top of the squat. In the OHS, though, you're probably very likely to wobble and/or fall over if you don't hit proper extension at the top, so "locked knees" may be enough of a cue. I would say "hip thrust" is too far the other way, and I agree, I wouldn't advise it, but I would say that the finish needs to involve a small measure of "hips forward" to make sure you meet the standard every time.

I think it's more he didn't want there to be any question about having a legitimate score; and expecting HQ to scrutinize closely when they're giving $2k to whoever has the highest score for all open workouts.

That right there will be a common reason why I think there will be a fair amount of video submissions disqualified. You almost have to do the hip thrust to remove all doubt

I agree that this pic is not full hip extension. But, that pic could be just before or after full hip extension.

Also, CLB posted on her facebook page that she re-did 14.2 and got 400+ reps.

And yes, me and CLB are FB friends.

Maybe his hands were torn up too much.
