WHich shoe would you recomend? The 2010 Rogue Fitness shoe or the Adidas Ironwork III shoe on Dynamic-Eleiko. THey are the same price.

Re: Which Weightlifting Shoe?

I literally spent hours researching this not long ago and as one would expect there is no concensus and there are pros and cons to everything. I have wide feet and dont want to play the buy, try and return game so until I find a local store that stocks actualy lifting shoes, or travel to an area that does, I opted for some Van's with a vulcanized sole that give me a nice hard, sturdy, flat surface to work from. My feet are too wide for chuck taylors so they were out and the vans were on sale so that worked for me.

A couple of things to consider, how wide are your feet? If wide, you might shy away from addidas, I have had trouble with addidas and I have fairly wide feet. I have no experience with the Rogue shoes, but I do currently lift in the older style dowins (not the Pendlay version). As you mentioned, there will be pros and cons to either of the shoes, and hopefully someone can chime in to the question you're asking.

I have got wide feet. If the adidas shoes are anything like their soccer cleats they will be tight on me so rogue might be best.

Completely agree! When I got the Ironwork III's, they were tight on my feet side-to-side, and contrary to what I was told, they never loosened up and after a 2 hr workout, my feet hurt worse. Good luck, you might also like the Pendlay Dowin shoes, Ive heard really good things about them also. Just a thought.

Re: Which Weightlifting Shoe?

Rogue Do-Wins are probably the way to go for wide feet, I wear a 13d and notice that the rogue's fit pretty well in comparison to some others. I did however purchase a pair of the Nike Romaleos just recently, and they took a few lifts before they were totally comfortable, but they aren't as bad as some others out there in terms of width.

But yes, if you're looking for weightlifting shoes and if you have wide feet go with the Rogues. I've had those and I currently lift in Romaleos. The Rogues are definitely a bit wider.

+1 for the Nike Romaleos. I've had them for a couple of months and they're fantastic.

Chucks are not lifting shoes. Can you lift in them? Sure. Are they lifting shoes? No.
