Another beast from Karl Steadman. Not long to wait until details come out. Can tell you though that I will be working a personal goat real hard ...

Cheers, kempie

Re: Painstorm - December '09

do you do the muscle ups after each round, or after all 3 rounds are completed?

Re: Painstorm - December '09

Guys my interpretation of the WOD is that there is 5 mins of muscle ups per round - so 15 mins total.

Have fun!!

Cheers, kempie

PS Matt - you can rock this one fella. You did real good on the weekend. Impressive effort!

Re: Painstorm - December '09

The scoring doesn't make any sense.

Why divide total reps/cals by total muscle-ups? Is the goal a high score or a low score? If you want a low score, you slack off reps/cals and/or do a lot of muscle-ups; if you want a high score, you bust your butt on the reps/cals and/or do minimal muscle-ups.

There is no comparison possible between scores. A score of 100 could mean 100 reps/cals of the barbell exercises, and then 1 muscle-up, or it could mean I did 10,000 reps/cals of the barbell exercises, and 100 muscle-ups. Who did more work?

Looks like an awesome workout, I'm just pointing something out.

So it's real easy to criticize someone and not offer a solution, which I did in the previous post. Sorry about that.

So the solution: why not just have the score be total reps/cals (ie, not divide by the muscle-ups but ADD the muscle-ups).

Re: Painstorm - December '09

Hi All,

Apologies! I completely screwed the scoring on this. Go ahead and post up total reps.

Sent this through without checking the maths of it, lesson learned.

Cheers,

Karl

You can always find the month's Painstorm on the first entry of the month on the Affiliate's Blog

http://www.crossfit.com/cf-affiliate...ay_091201.html (WFS)

3 rounds of:

1 minute max reps deadlift
1 minute max reps hang power clean
1 minute max reps push press
1 minute max reps front squat
1 minute max calorie row

1 minute rest

5 minute max reps muscle-ups

For score, divide total reps/cals by number of muscle-ups.
Loading is 60kg for males and 40kg for females.
Scale movements as necessary.

Cheers, kempie

Re: Painstorm - December '09

so you do each movement 1 min. for 3 rounds then take a minute rest and complete as many muscle-ups and possible for 5 minutes?
