Re: Are plantains paleo?

They are...........But seeing in your avatar that your caucasion, your ancestors probably didn't eat plantains, making it un-paleo in a certain sense.

Re: Are plantains paleo?

So only asians should eat plantains? Interesting. I imagine different ethnic groups should have different paleo diets, since each groups' ancestors would only have had access to certain food sources? No avocados for caucasians or asians then. What about mixed groups like hispanics, which are a mix of different ethnic backgrounds? What can they eat?

I could be wrong here, but I've only had plantains in carribean island countries, they grow other places?

Not many things better in this entire world than a nice big plate of sweet plantains.

Sweet plantains fried in bacon grease = caveman candy.

Re: Are plantains paleo?

Plantains are native to Malay in southeast asia. Brought to the carribean by the Spanish in the 1500s. Central amerian people (hispanic, puerto rican, etc.) as we know them today didn't exist 10,000 years ago either, since they're a blend of european and native american blood, with a little african in there in varying degrees.

Re: Are plantains paleo?

hey, we all came from the Rift Valley/Olduvai Gorge in Africa (or from the flyign spaghetti monster) so either way, the diet should be the same for all of us. An interesting side note that the flying spaghetti monster, which would have to be hunted, would be paleo while spaghetti is not.
