Vegan CF addict

Hey guys,

I am usually quite hesitant when it comes to posting stuff online bc I always wonder who would be interested in reading about my lifestyle and diet but I think it s bout time to just get over myself and get somebody else's opinion.

I have been doing CF since Oct last year and I am lovin it. Since Feb I try to squeeze in 2 sessions a day but had to cut down recently due to uni madness but the daily session is a must.

Even though didn't want to put myself in a position where it is all about counting kcals and being super strict I ve finally listened to my coach and have been on the zone for one week now.

Now the problem or rather challenge is to get enough protein.
I ve been consuming a hell lot of tofu an protein powder but I thought it is worth a try to see if there are any other CF vegans out there to get some ideas or advice. Since I am aiming to drop my BF % a lil I ve been sticking to 2 blocks 5x day.

So yeah, this is me appreciating any sort of suggestion / advice.

Many thanks

Re: Vegan CF addict

I think that the books specifically say don't drop below 11 blocks, its just not enough food.

I don't have vegan input, sorry, I like the moo.

But, best of luck!

Re: Vegan CF addict

I'm not sure how a vegan, or even a vegetarian, gets enough quality protein. I've been eating fish, and no other meats, for 25 years, and it's sometimes tough for me to get enough protein!

Sorry, can't really help you.

Have you looked into the Soy Zone by Dr. Sears? I bought it on froogle.com for about 25 cents plus shipping. Haven't had a chance to read it yet, but it's pretty thick.

Check out Mike Mahler. He's a decently large, decently strong guy who is also vegetarian. I have some vegetarian recipes but I don't think you'll like them.

Re: Vegan CF addict

Vegans, I wonder how they would cook up, probably a tad dry and on the lean side, hence a marinade over night??

Re: Vegan CF addict

There's a web site called veganbodybuilding.com. I found it when I was looking for alternative protein sources for a vegetarian I was training. It has a lot of dietary information and a lot of unique protein products. There are also some links to a Vegan iron man competitor, I can't remember his name off the top of my head. But, that would be a great source for information about high protein options, etc.

Re: Vegan CF addict

Shame on you guys. I try (try) to respect my Vegan daughter's position but damn is it hard to find something to eat when with her. Her sister and I have a standard exchange now for when we have to deal with her. One of us says "Oh what are we having for dinner? Buttered Baby Seals?" Then when one showed up on the beach all alone in Nahant where firefighter (omnivore) daughter lived it was just too funny . But baby seal clubbing not so cool. I don't object to Veganism but no leather no honey, no silk no wool etc. is a little much. Although I got regifted a great leather coat and leather gloves by the vegan - more animal skin for me!

OP, back to respecting your choice here, sorry for the ribbing. Go to ************ and hunt around. I swear I saw some vegan eating/weightlifting info. that I was going to pass on to my daughter on there but can't find it currently. Best of luck, I do admire the dedication it takes to eat this way.
