Fore foot Running shoes

Just ordered a pair of Newton Runners .They have a 3/16th fore sole built up to promote fore foot running. I put an article on how to use the shoe in an atttachment. Has anyone used these shoes? I couldn't copy a picture of the shoe to attach.

Re: Fore foot Running shoes

I don't have the Newtons, but I've heard good things about 'em.

All I've gotta say is...take it slow, take it slow, take it slow!

I have some Five-Finger Sprints that I just bought a while ago...

Took 'em out for some track work (6x 400m sprints), and bam, my forefoot is absolutely fried the next day. Of course, I figure it's usual soreness, and a day or two later, go for a ~24 minute run in regular shoes. Bad idea! I think I may be dealing with metatarsalgia now.

So be smart with it.

Don't be me...

Re: Fore foot Running shoes

Thanks, I was also thinking of ordering a pair of Nike sprints later 'after getting used to fore foot running. The Nike's are half the price too. I will take your advice as I am just getting over Para Fasitis (spelt wrong) - strained ligaments in the foot. I did it Aug 06 and my Chyro said it would be a year to a year and a half. It's just starting to feel good now.

Thanks for the advice

I just saw a commercial for shoe inserts to change the pressure on your foot in your shoes to put the weight on the ball of your foot.
