I have been out of CF & all fitness for past 7m, just returning to CF past week. I know I need to slowly get back into it to avoid injury, & I understand that it is going to take much to get back what I had. However upon returning to CF I already had some kind of annoying pain in my right ankle without any exercising. Now w/great concern & doing R.I.C.E to my ankle I started researching & came across antibiotics/steroids that may have caused achilles tendonitis....has any CF members experienced anything like this? And...what about long term effects? I am suppose to go to the fire academy in August & Iraq in Januray/February....in addition I may be enlisting with Army Nat'l Guard soon. Help ...I need to get back on track.

I'd think probiotics to help replenish your gut (after they all got destroyed by the antibiotics) and also fish oil should help with inflammation issues...after all anything ending in "-itis" is inflammation.

Florsie.I found strapping the achilles to keep tension off it a for few days helped for recovery. Also your shoes may not be the right ones for you.

Peter...I have been icing mostly in the morning when needed most. I noticed that i cant walk on my tile floors i have to wear shoes in the house at all times. My ankle feels better when wearing my running shoes all day i just hate to wear them all day...got to do what i got to do i guess. I def got the prob when taking all of that junk via meds it caused other bad side effects that have gone away now i am stuck with the ankle issue. I guess i will holding off some of my plans for a bit...ANG isnt going to want me now until this is healed, and the fire academy well that is in August if i dont go ANG...:nopity: Thanks again for your advice.

Yeah, that was pretty gross, Matthew. Be careful or I'll be posting my hernia scars.
