Best, tastiest, quick-dissolving protein powder on a budget

The title says it all. I'm looking for your favorite protein powder, the one that combines cost-effectiveness (this is very important for the health of my bank account) with nutrition, taste, and ease of dissolution into water. I prefer whey protein.

I have two huge jugs of soy protein powder from Trader Joe's that is basically inedible, it's that horrendous. Barely dissolves in anything, tastes like crap, and I'm skeptical of the soy formulation.

I know protein powder is not the greatest source of protein, but humor me, please!

Doesn't Trader Joes sell Whey protein? The one I go to has the in-house brand and another brand called Designer Whey.

Yeah, but it's $12 per 15 23g servings, and I was hoping I could find something cheaper.

Sam's Club

EAS 6lbs for about 28 bucks, chocolate or vanilla. Just straight Whey, no shipping, no plastic tub, comes in bag. Beyond a doubt the cheapest price straight Whey on the market.

Ya, it probably comes from China, has rat poop in it along with being processed by slave labor, so buyer beware and I know about protein, so don't lecture me on the qualities of the different proteins.

Plus, there has to be one billion threads on Protein Emily, so I'm glad it's now 1 billion and 1.............

All of this happened in less than 10 seconds

1. read the title of the thread, before my eyes could move slightly to the right to see who made the last post I thought "Jay said something funny".
2. looked right, saw last poster was in fact Jay and confirmed my instinct.
3. prepared to chuckle at his smart a**edness
4. confused by first sentence about sam's club (huh?)
5. very confused by second, third and fourth sentence (Jay talking protein powder??)
6. knowing nod by third paragraph.. there it is.
7. payoff on the last line.. "1 billion and 1........"

thanks Jay!

I'll vouch for that one, although I haven't had protein powder in ages. I think it might have been $22 actually, but whatever. It's made by SportPharma.

The cost of whey has shot through the roof in the past 6 months to a year.

A good company that can handle all your protein needs, build custom formulas, basically anything you need. The best thing is you can order like 5 lbs in 5 diff flavors to find what you like. Check out their forum to ask a rep any questions and for discount codes.

Thanks for the Costco tip. I've been getting my whey at TJ's, I'll need to give the Costco rat poop a try.

I'll vouch for the Sam's club EAS. It's the same as the more expensive stuff they sell at GNC etc. Tastes good and mixes easier than most.
