Re: Meat grown in laboratory??? Yikes!

Thanks for the link. I've thought about this in the past, and I think it is a great idea. I think it is inevitable that in my lifetime we'll have excellent qualtity meat grown in labs rather than chopped up animals. Once the science has it down, I think it will be cheaper and better quality than regular "cheap" meat loaded with anti-biotics, corn, etc.

And I bet that in 100 years or so, if you tell a kid that we used to raise, kill, and then chop up billions of animals a year to eat the first response will be "repulsive".

Exercise without exercising? They need the flex belt.

(wfs..just some abs)
Or even better, just throw the chunks of lab meat on a hawaii chair!

[quote=Pat Dimitri;703585]It says that they're growing it from animal cells.. if we could get the same quality meat but without killing animals would it really be so bad?

Inevitably the quality will probably be awful.. but it's nice to dream.[/QUOTE

God put animal on this earth to feed us. YES the way we resort to killing the cow, chicken etc...is definitely inhumane these days, but we are carnivores, meant to feed on the flesh of animals. It's just how it's meant to be.

genetically grown meat would down the road be found to cause cancer or something crazy anyways. It's not how we are meant to live, eat and survive. I say go back to how things used to be...eat whole foods and America would be a better healthier country.

We probably weren't meant to sit in cubicles either, but here I am. Ideally, I do my own killin' (deer hunting), secondarily I'll head to the butcher, and I think I'd eat a laboratory burger before I'd eat a tofu dog. I'd probably eat em all though.

EGG-xactly. Ironic also how the more "badly" we treat our sources of food, the more they will make us sick....checks and balances. Mankind and his ego to one-up nature has never produced anything that is better than the real thing. Much like this picture where one rat was fed whole eggs, the other "healthy for you" eggbeaters....you guess which is which. (Link sfw)

Nature is a bigger plan of lifeforms living off one another to benefit the entire cycles of life (with a mutual respect for natural living). Thinking otherwise will just leave one confused and probably eaten by a tiger they want to be friends with.
