Trent...I was in town for the holidays, but am back in Fayetteville now - how's the training going?

John V - thanks for the awesome "jello legs" workout today - I am still having trouble walking down stairs!

This morning's workout at Designs In Fitness/Crossfit Cape Fear:
3 rounds of 4 exercises - done in a square formation
Starting at the main door - 10 wallballs (used 12#)
Lunge-walk to the other overhang - I didn't count, as I was too occupied with the burning sensation in my thighs and also with trying not to fall over.
10 squat jumps
Lunge-walk back to the front of the main overhang/platform
5 burpees (is he serious?!)
Lunge walk to the sidewalk
10 squats
Lunge walk back to the door
Begin next round
time: 15:40


Friday morning at Carolina Crossfit (my farewell workout)
MURPH
Run 1 mile
100 pullups, 200 pushups, 300 squats
Run 1 mile
Time: 56:45

Partitioned into 10/20/30. First round pushups from toes. All the rest from knees. All pullups kipping.

Good work on the Murph!

My training is going well, I'm beginning to reach a level of maturity in my riding that can only be earned after a couple years of riding. How is Fayetteville; are you teaching there?

Glad you are doing so well in your training, Trent. Yeah, I'm teaching elementary music up here - it's pretty cool. The kids seem to like me, so that's what matters.

Did the 5x3 deadlift workout from the other day.

Tuesday, Jan 6

AB-A-THON 10 ROUNDS
10 KB swings (used 16kg)
10 situps (w/ abmat)
10 hollow rocks
10 tuck situps
100 sprint (around a track inside)

I did all this barefoot, because I forgot my pumas when I left for work in the morning. Time: 21:10

Today, Wed. Jan 7
AMRAP in 10 minutes (easy, right?)
15 KB swings (24kg)
7 burpees
30 sec superman hold

5 rounds, plus 15 swings, 4 burpees

Friday Jan. 9
Took yesterday off.
Today found myself alone at the gym - so I decided to do Fran. Last time was July - 5:53, with REAL kipping pullups. Not so great this time. BUT...the pullup bar is much harder to work on (here in NC) than the one at CCF

65# thrusters
3 kipping pullups, the rest jumping
6:40
I feel like such a cheater

We're going to be looking to change the bar from it's current style into a straight bar style... a little thicker as well.

Ha ha, thanks John! For the insane workout I mean

Sat. morning...in the basketball court.

The "buy in" - 50 pushups. Got about 20 from the toes, the rest from the knees
The actual workout:
5 rounds - not for time...tried to go heavy
15 kb swings - alternated between a 24kg kb and a 40# db
sprint to the other side of the court (longways)
15 thrusters - used 65# (of course the day after I do Fran, MORE THRUSTERS)
recovery walk back to the swings

post workout: 100 situps (ooh my abs)

Catching up with the week:

Monday:
I forgot what I did...
Oh yeah! I remember...it involved MORE THRUSTERS
3 rounds. Use same weight on bar for all (55# - should've done 65#)
5 deadlifts
5 hang squat cleans
5 thrusters
5 shoulder press
100m sprint
time: 7:42 - best time of the day

Tuesday:
4 rounds for time of...
21 kb swings (used 40#db)
lunge walk to end of hall (about 20 steps) recovery walk back
21 diamond situps
400m run

time: 18:27 (beating Gray by 6 seconds!)

Wednesday:
light mobility work, and some fun with the foam roller

Thursday:
AMRAP in 20 minutes
5 pushups (still feel weak at these)
10 situps (with the abmat)
15 squats

21 rounds (lef: 22, Carrie: 20)

Awesome Sat. morning workout at Carolina Crossfit in Columbia, SC.

Partner workout:
Together, flip a tire 15 times (this was a BIG tire)
100 pullups (one person at a time, do as much as you can, then the other hop on)
100 thrusters, 45# bar
run 800 (together, holding hands if you like)

Got to do this with the incredible Dawn. Our time: 14:47
